I downloaded a French advertisement
(thanks Graphics Fairy) then tweeked it a bit more with my Printshop program. After a little painting and distressing I printed the image on waxy paper and rubbed it onto the tray. I sealed it with a spray paint clear coat.
Next project, an old lazy susan that I'll share photos of in a few days!

You did a really nice job on that tray. ONe of these days I will figure out how to download graphics.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful job! And how clever to get the writing on the tray like you did. I'll have to investigate that technique more. Lovely transformation, to be sure!

What an amazing transformation! I often bring things home. don't have an immediate plan then it just sits undone. You've inspired me!
ReplyDeleteThat is so funny. I'm in the middle of spray painting a tray right now. Just waiting for it to dry. I love The Graphic Fairies stuff.
ReplyDeleteOoh! Tell us about the waxy paper transfer method. I've been collecting thrift store trays recently and am looking for new transformation ideas. Robyn
ReplyDeleteYour tray is awesome, what a transformation. Love it.
ReplyDeleteOh Karee it's adorable! I love it! I'll be keeping my eyes open for a tray like it at the Goodwill *winks* Vanna
