A June Wedding!

My beautiful daughter got married this month. She made a lovely June bride and we had such fun the last several months planning her perfect wedding. We made it a DIY affair as much as we could. Here are a few photos and some of the things I made.

Started with designing the invitations.

Moved on to making 20 centerpieces using silk flowers.

I made a seating chart using a vintage gold frame I found while antiquing.

I used my new Cricut to make a "Just Married" banner.

Meg's gown was quite simple and classic. We decided to embellish it just a little by adding some organza flowers and  a ruffle. These were really fun to make!

Megan wanted a basket of flowers instead of a traditional bouquet. She chose hydrangeas in cream and green. I accented the flowers with ivy and hypericum berries.

The ceremony was in South Jordan, Utah
at the LDS Temple there. The groom's grandfather was able to perform the ceremony.

I painted a vintage tool box for guests to drop cards into.

More green hydrangeas were placed on the wedding cake. Love the brown polka dot ribbon!

The candy buffet turned out to be a big hit!
Here's how I put it together -Candy Buffet

I made napkin rings out of nests to go with the theme and to serve as favors.

Even the spring green salad matched our color scheme!

Granddaughter Sadie was the flower girl, posing here with big brother Grant.

The reception was held at The Woods Reception Center where my brother happens to be the manager and caterer. The food was fabulous!

Presenting Mr. and Mrs. Brian Stebar!

A sparkler "send off" is a lot of fun.

I know there are a lot of "to do" lists out there to help prepare for a wedding. Here's what I found I was able to do myself (or help from friends and family!) It was time consuming, but so fun to make my daughters wedding unique. Most of these ideas are simple to do and can really help save on wedding costs.

- Designed the wedding invitations.
- Embellished the wedding gown by adding a ruffle at the neckline and organza flowers at the hip. Also made organza flower clip for the bride's hair.
- Premade all of the centerpieces. Made table # cards and inserted on vintage silver forks.
- Made a large framed seating chart.
- Made a "Just Married" banner.
- Altered the flower girl dress
- Put together elements for a candy buffet including personalizing the candy bags.
- Made nest napkins rings (to be used as favors).
- Made bride's and flower girls flower baskets using fresh flowers.
- Decorated the cake using fresh flowers.
- Made box and cards for the guest sign in table.
- My son put together a music playlist for the reception.
- I'm lucky to have a brother who is a caterer and did all of the food!
- Made homemade jam as prizes for the winners of our "Megan and Brian Trivia" game.

  3. Oh my goodness, what a beautiful wedding. Our son is getting married in 3 weeks and I didn't have too do much, not like the bride and her mother. I did make the rehearsal dinner invitations and favors. It's so much fun.

  6. Beautiful wedding. My daughter got married this month, too. I love your attention to details. The basket of flowers is lovely, the ring bearer and flower girl are simply adorable in their outfits, and I love the table settings with the bird's nests. That cake is also gorgeous ... and of course, the bride is exquisite. Very, very nice!
