Our recent tour of France included stops at many of the country's most beautiful cathedrals. The Sonoran Desert Chorale had been invited to sing in these marvelous edifices known for their reverence, history, and awe inspiring architecture. My favorite element of these

Each is unique, a true work of art and inspirational. Most of these structures were built when the majority of people were illiterate so the windows purpose was to teach of the Savior, the apostles and other saints.
Some windows are more modern and commemorate more recent events in history or merely serve to inspire with their beauty.

My favorite window is in the church at Saint Mer Eglise which depicts the allied forces paratroopers who came to liberate France during WWII.

gorgeous! we were there in april, and i was disappointed to see the rose window was being worked on, so we couldn't see it.
